Remember, folks, "Election Day" isn't just a crappy song by the three lesser members of Duran Duran, it's a civic duty.

Most of the states don't have high-profile elections (unless you're in VA, NJ, NYC, or a few other places), but those local elections are important, too.

(I'm voting after work myself, as my walk home from the bus goes right by the polling place).

Drove by my place today, to discover that no county-wide issues are up for vote today. Ah, well.

I was going to go vote today for our mayor and city council. I began reading up on the issues, made my decisions on what I agreed with, then set out to see where the various candidates stood on the issues.

There is one person running for mayor.

There are THREE people running for FOUR council slots.

Brand me a communist, but I'm not bothering to vote. At least not in this election. When they have the special election to fill the council seat that won't be filled today, then I might consider voting.

Good little me

I can't believe I missed your diss of that masterpiece of a song the first time around. That would be "Election Day" by Arcadia, and I LOVE that song.

Arcadia was better than Power Station, at least... but overall, the boys needed each other.

But still!!!

You're right, that would have been the right album for it, but I have to admit, I love the song anyway *grin*

Here in NJ, we get to vote for the Democrat Selfmade-Millionaire-Who-Doesn't-Care-About-People, or the Republican Selfmade-Millionaire-Who-Doesn't-Care-About-People. What a choice.

Then again, it is Jersey politics. It's not a question of which one is less ethical, more corrupt, more beholden to party bosses, etc. The question is simply *how* each one will show those qualities.
