This ad, which was not aired because of perceived violence (a phrase which here means, "adults doing the exact same sort of make-believe that kids have done for at least fifty years"), is much, much better than that god-awful jump-rope ad MS is airing instead.

I can see why it wasn't run, though. Especially in light of yet another shopping mall shoot-up in Seattle (MS's home base) last week.

I hadn't been aware of the recent shooting until now (nor was I aware of this comment until today, thanks to LJ's email notifications issue); current events do impact things like this, and given the Seattle location, I could see why they'd be cautious.

oh god that jump rope ad is shit ... well the link doesnt seem to work for me, cuz my quicktime plugins suck, but if its the gun ad, then yeah its one of the strokes of advertising genius in a while. ever since those ads for that coconut liquor (no not kahlua) with the Jamaicans, and the the guy whose "fish is sick" .... yeah i dont remember the name but that ad was priceless =P
