More Amazon DVD sale goodness
Dec. 1st, 2005 10:33 amThanks to
scottwrites for letting me know about this sale, which promises "up to 50% off" of a bunch of DVD sets, but actually lies like a dog, as plenty of sets are above that, including both The Fantastic Films of Ray Harryhousen -- Legendary Science Fiction Series and Legendary Monster Series for $26.97 each (53% off), Season 1 of Hearts Afire for $13.97 (65% off for John Ritter and Markie Post goodness!), the Lara Croft two-movie set for $8.97 (65% off, but you'd better like Angelina a lot more than you like, say, plot), Steamboy/Memories for $18.97 (53% off, making it cheaper than just getting Steamboy by itself), The Martin Scorcese Collection and The Steve McQueen Collection for $18.97 each (62% off), The Beverly Hills Cop three-pack for $9.97 (60% off), The Woody Allen 8-pack for $38.97 (61% off, and it includes over half of his better movies) and, in what may be one of their best deals ever, the first three Once Upon a Time in China movies (some of Jet Li's best work ever, and a major inspiration for many of the stunts on Xena) for $10.97 (54% off). If you like Hong Kong action at all, jump on that last one.
There are a few more nice deals scattered through the sale (the complete seven-season Star Trek: TNG for a "mere" $519.97, season 1 of Degrassi: TNG for $21.97, etc), depending on your tastes.
Oh, and although it's not a part of this sale, the Office Space Special Edition with Flair is $11.99 (40% off).

Date: 2005-12-02 01:17 pm (UTC)Then again, I've got a Usagi Yojimbo graphic novel -- one that's in print -- that's taken over three weeks already, and still doesn't list as shipping anytime soon. I think they've got some weird supply issues.
