Unlike Gilbert O'Sullivan or Biz Markee, though, I'm not lamenting that.

'song made it safely to her destination (although there was certainly some confusion en route, which she might post about when she returns). That means that I not only had the house to myself yesterday, but will do so today and tomorrow, as well (Elayna returns on Sunday).

Yes, two-and-a-half days of having the house to myself.

As anyone who knows me is aware, I need alone time -- I'm relatively extreme in my introverted nature. At most, I get that for a few hours here or there during the year (I don't count staying up after everyone has gone to bed, although that's a manifestation of it as well).

But today and tomorrow -- it's all me. Dear god, I need that.

I've already accomplished important things, like watching six episodes on Tivo of Black Books, grocery shopping, and renting High Tension.

Since today's a work holiday, no need to wake up early or head in to the office, either. I might head to Northlake later, or just read the entire day, or try cooking eggs in a bag.

Happy penultimate day of the year to all of you!

When I cohabitated, I was always like, "Yes! A whole week alone! I can't wait!" By the 15th hour or so, I was insomniac and miserable. :)

I'm glad you get some recharge time out of it!

mmm, alone time. I just wish I didn't feel duty bound to clean and tidy when I get it.

But I can't think of a better use for it than watching Black Books. I nearly had an embolism watching the pilot episode when J was away - so so funny.

Dylan Moran is a god. Possibly Dionysus, but most definitely a god.

So the egg in a bag thing - does the boiling water not melt the plastic?

I'm so with on the needing time alone thing. It's vital to both my existence and my sanity ... especially the latter since there are days it exists by a tenuous thread indeed.

I'm glad you'll have the downtime ... and Merry New Year to you, too!
