It's back to a decently busy week of new TV, finally.
House: Finally! No more Sela! Of course, we had to have her sleep with House first, just to piss me off. And I'm not sure I've ever disliked a patient as much as I disliked Julie Warner this week. I hope her character goes off and breaks her back in an incredibly nasty car crash, only to fall in love with her emotionally distant (but not as distant as House) doctor, marry him, cheat on him, and eventually disappear out of his backstory.
No, that would actually be too good for her. God, was she annoying.
Otherwise, a damned good episode, with some great laughs, but not one of the best ones we've had. I'd love to know why, exactly Wilson was so upset over philandering, given his history. I mean, sure, he was worried about his friend, but shouldn't someone else have mentioned his own history?
Oh, and the line that should have been uttered, but wasn't: After House dumped Sela, he should have said, "By the way, your husband's in the main stairwell."
GIlmore Girls: Jesus Christ, what sort of clock does Yale run on? Rory gets elected at a meeting of the newspaper (one that's clearly been running for hours), gets evicted, moves in with Logan, gives her dad a tour of the campus, and at some point manages to go to class and do her editorial duties, one assumes. Even by GST (Gilmore Standard Time), the Palladino's are playing fast and loose here.
Otherwise, I enjoyed this one. The Friday Night dinners are wonderful, and there was some damned sharp dialogue. The Michel subplot was a little annoying ("hey, we've got a character who is in the credits, and who's only had one line all season. Let's give him a moment."), but otherwise, I liked the progress. Although I really wanted to kill Chris near the very end.
Veronica Mars: Wow. So Veronica basically assisted in framing two different people. Neither of whom I feel any pity for, but still, that was a little ethically suspect, wasn't it? But I prefer my shows with characters who act human, not perfect, anyway. I loved Mac and Beaver getting back at Dick, but I don't see happiness in their future. There's too much out there that could cause either of them harm. I'm also curious where they're going with the Logan relationship plotline (I'm assuming her father is supposed to be a major issue, but is it a simply matter of him hating Logan on site, or is Logan targeting his daughter?).
Drawn Together : Damned funny. A few of the jokes were overdone (the whole "real world" stuff staying still got old). But I loved the idea of using cheat codes to control Xander (and that one comment from the audience asking how giving him a big head helped win the game addresses something I've always wondered about some of those codes myself). Captain Hero got the line of the episode: "I've always wanted a woman with six penises." We had to pause the Tivo because of laughter. My only real complaint: No Ling-Ling.
Tonight, new Everybody Hates Chris, and the return of Lady Heather on CSI!
Tomorrow, the two-hour Fox Finale of Arrested Development!
Saturday, the first new JLU in months!
Sunday, um. I dunno. Haven't looked that far ahead on the Tivo. But it probably involves an exclamation point or two.
