Weekend TV:

JLU: Wow. So, they killed two significant villains here. Um, holy shit. I mean, any Aquaman villain is, in the scheme of things, not a huge loss, but Grodd? Wow. And I loved the reactions to his plan. Wonder Woman's "Oh, come on!" was priceless. As was Luthor's dismissal of the plan. Likewise, his manipulation of Bizarro was great. And, of course, seeing Boston Brand again was wonderful. Gotta pity him for how things turned out for him, though. Overall, just a superb episode, using the Big Three to nicely move the arc forward.

Slings and Arrows: Oh, how I missed this show! A tv show that actually appeals to well-read audiences. Who knew? Not bothering with any spoilers, but man, am I happy to see these guys again. If you get Sundance, you owe it to yourself to watch this show. If you're living in Canada, you saw this stuff last year, and I envy you.

Desperate Housewives: This show consistently gets damned fine guest stars, and Maria Conchita Alonso was a blast to watch. The show did suffer from the same issues they had earlier this season (too many separate plotlines with too little overlap), but the areas in which there was overlap were damned nice.

Working from Home:

Yep. Since DeKalb County decided to add an extra week of vacation this year ("to give families time to travel," which means they listened to the families in the one rich district, presumably), I'm working from home this week. So far, so good.

Elayna's Birthday:

Yes, our little girl turns 11 next month! She's decided that she wants to do a mystery party, and will do How to Host a Teen Mystery: Barbecue With the Vampire this year. She's excited about this one, as are we.

Finally, for those wondering about the state of me in KOL, I'm about halfway there on my AT ascension, beating the Bonerdagon last night. 100 turns away from leaving Ronin, which should happen tomorrow.

Ah! Thank you. I knew about stuff going into storage. I did not know you could not buy anything though! And I did not know the Ronin term, obviously. I'm in the clouds now, Not too much further to get to the NS for me.

nice JLU...I liked that Luthor went WTF along with the audience at Grodd's master plan...did Grodd die? I thought I heard him moan and looked like he was still alive but rightfully knocked out...

Liked WW's reaction too, though if you wanted to pick nits, why would she devolve into an ape when she was formed from a lump of clay by her mom(and her 'dad' Hades who helped)?

Saw that Tala went ape too, which apparently means she's a human sorceress in JLU and not the Queen of Evil demoness she was in the books...

Oh yes going back to the Flash ep had 2 questions:

1) why would Abra Kadabra be hanging around a bar centuries in his past with other Flash baddies?

2) Back when the baddies were arguing about helping Boomerang pay for his failed setup, was I the only one who thought Boomer told Mirror Master "you just pull another mirror out of your asshole" on the first listen(gotta love Aussie accents)

lj just ate my comment. Take two:

Bizarro irritates me, whatever the incarnation. I groan when I see him.

When did we see Boston before? I don't remember seeing him.

I assumed this episode was a nod to the JLApe thing of a few years back in the comics.

The ending was shocking. I totally wasn't expecting that. But...it's Lex Luthor. I was surprised this episode didn't touch on the Brainiac/Luthor amalgam at all.

I had the same thought! But I guess her DNA is human. I wonder if Batman has any on file.

Oh, and I'm sure 2) was completely intentional.

Well obviously he was a Kryptonian Super-Ape. It would have been cool had he looked completely different.

had same thought too; maybe there were Kryptonian Apes?

Prob Grodd was just that smart, even if he has cheesy master plans(well he is a big monkey!!)

Love GitS. Though each episode leaves me sitting there going "WTF?" until I can figure out the whole tie in to the main plot.

FMA is very stereotypical anime. At least how the main characters act. The 2nd season really goes into depth into the minor characters in the series and how their actions influneced everything else. Really good storyline.

just not sure...I'd swore I heard Grodd moan...agreed that Luthor would be stupid to leave him alive...

I can buy that Abra was back for a visit..however I forgot the bigger question...how can Dr. Alchemy and Mr. Element be hanging out together at the bar when they're the same guy?

Superman and Wonder Woman clearly have DNA that is pretty similar to human DNA, since they've occasionally had Kryptonian-human or Amazonian-human children (at different times, Donna Troy's backstory has been an example of both! Although I think most of the examples were actually Imaginary Stories). I think that shows that they're capable of interbreeding with humanity, which means that a ray that works on human DNA ought to have the same effect on them.

science just shrugs its shoulders when it encounters her, and moves on to something simpler, like Power Girl

You forgot "and more buoyant".
