1. House: Damn, pain makes House a bitch. Between the ongoing race-baiting of Foreman and the ogling of the model, he's pretty much been willing to say anything. As far as the main plotline goes, I caught most of the twist, but still enjoyed it. Clearly, the writers of this show are not big fans of the world of supermodels, and what it does to people. Good for them. And go Wilson, who again gets so many of the best lines. That said, did we need 25 minutes of the episode taken up by whatever song they'd paid to buy this time? House hurts. We get it.

2. Around the house: Working from home not as much fun today, as we just had (and have hopefully resolved) a major shit-hits-the-fan crisis. I think we're through it, though. But, ugh. Not fun.

Got through all of the css content at w3schools yesterday, and am working on Javascript today. That's not to imply that I can code css off the top of my head, just that I understand the structure and fundamentals well enough to know where to look to get stuff done, or to troubleshoot existing code.

3. KOL: I'm out of Ronin, and I've joined [livejournal.com profile] unwilly's clan, The Food Knights. I've decided not to go for the über-familiar this ascension, as I'll need more pine tar (and thus a mystically run) first, but I've gotten all the clockwork items I need. I am planning, once I've hit the Enormous Greater-Than Sign, to start some zapping, in an effort to get the two last uncommon tiny plastic items I need (I've managed to get multiples of some of the others).

I'm a little worried about this whole "House as a drug addict" storyline since if he's giong to stop being a functional drug addict they are going to have to do something with him that's either going to have him really fucking up or going to AA - both of which could kill the fun of watching Hugh Laurie act like a complete dickwad.

All that and I'm wondering why no one has talked about doing any stunt casting with Stephen Fry. Although they didn't get Tom Wopat on Smallville until the fifth season.

I've just recently started watching House (and am now downloading the entire first season, 7 gigs may take a while!) and it's like crack.

It's hard at first to get past the wholly unethical practice of treating every patient like a guinea pig that has infinite money and insurance, but it is entertaining. Hugh Laurie is amazing. I sort of like the path they're taking with him.. but, as the commenter above me said, if it's resolved in any way it might take away his character.

Showing a bit of his vulnerability is sorta neat, though. :]

I saw the crisis post. Urg.

Damn glad to have you in the clan. Kmail me if you want pine tar now. I love my NPRZ.

While we're on the topic, I'm currently only level 9 (S) on my first life. If I kept Advanced Saucecrafting after I ascended, would I still be able to cook the Saucerer-only reagent combos? Or would that be a worthless skill to keep?

Just wanted to say that I read some of your Fear Factor columns over at bookslut over the weekend and I really enjoyed them. I've never really branched into reading horror other than Stephen King or Shirley Jackson (well I attempted to read John Saul but always ended up throwing his books across the room) but I'll definitely be checking out some of the authors you recommended.

Also, nice to see some love for Richard Moore's Boneyard. I love that series. Does anybody have any idea when Book 5 comes out?
