nihilistic_kid noted this article, talking about the troubles that many Jewish racists have fitting in to the larger world of racism, in which there's *gasp* also a huge amount of anti-Semitism. There's something almost pathetically amusing watching racists clash with each other, or there would be if it didn't signify something very fucked up with the world. But there are great quotes here, including a Jew storming out of a meeting after calling someone a Nazi (can you even invoke Godwin's Law if you're a part of a racist movement?), and quotes like [Jews] don't exist. For me, they are like Eskimos. I'm still trying to figure that last one out (do they sell a frozen novelty item called Jew Pie anywhere?).

But my favorite moment is this little bit, talking about the head of this little group of racists: "Ultimately, for all the things I care about to happen, Jews must be part of the movement," he said in an interview. The reason, he added, is that Jews have influence and are widely seen as "the conscience of our society."

You just know that he left out the next sentence he wanted to utter: Besides, the Jews control the banks, and we need funding to keep our movement going.

Awww, isn't it nice how many ways there are to hate each other?

(P.S. Do they have a palette which decides who is white and who is not? What about if the person tanns? :P )

I just see this as a positive shift away from former white supremacist politics when they got The Nation of Islam to agree with them on race separation and Evil Jews and now they are trying to court the Jews in order to go after the blacks. But what if the Nazis invite Farrakhan to speak on the same day that the white natioanlists invite that rabbi?

I always did think that American racists are the world's most lazy racists - they go mostly on obvious features like skin color and religious attire and stick to people who are noticably different from them. If they had to track some guy's ancestry back twelve generations in order to know whether they hate him or not, I suspect they'd give the whole thing up.

And the line... "You f...ing Nazi, you've disgraced this meeting"... I have to wonder - do you think there were any Nazis sitting in the back of the room? Were they offended?

Somehow the picture of a roomful of racists going on about how they've hurt each other's feelings strikes me as unbelievably funny.

The Eskimo thing was on The Simpsons. Homer for some reason was listing off a list of imaginary creatures to Lisa, and the last item on the list was "Eskimos".

Not sure what the implications of that fact are, really...
