Various and sundry Monday stuff

1. shadesong comes back tonight! Much as I love alone time (and this week has been very, very good for me as a chance to decompress, as well as being a great trip for her), it's weird not waking up next to her in the morning. And the cats are going to give her so much grief over being gone for eight days, it's not even funny.

2. KOL update: I'm out of ronin, and at level 10. Should have been there sooner, but as I've said, I messed up my TPS drinks this run, big time. Not that it really matters -- I'm aiming for level 15 this time, to snag the super-advanced cocktailcrafting skill, so this isn't a speed run. Oh, and if you haven't logged in for a few days, you've missed some nifty content dealing with the comet.

3. Kingdom Hearts 2 update: I've done everything but the final battle; I'm now going around trying to fill in the journal and get enough parts for the Ultimate Recipe. Not that I think I'll fill in the entire journal before going ahead and winning the game (if nothing else, some of the scores in the various Hades tournaments are out of reach), but it's fun at least trying them.

4. I'm almost done reading Widdershins. It's making me very happy, as I'd actually had somewhat middling expectations for it (on some level, it feels like it originated as a "because the fans demanded it" kind of book, and I'm not a fan of such things in general). So far, it's up there as one of de Lint's best. And yes, I should learn not to underestimate some authors. :-)

5. Police Squad is coming out on DVD!. You have no idea how happy this makes me (even if half the jokes from the series were appropriated for the movies).

CA Dude is doing hardcore this run, and I don't know if he'll be out before the feast of boris. If he's not, and the timing works out for you, would you mind giving me a three-tiered cake? I don't have enough ascensions to buy it myself, and CA Dude has offered to get it too me if his HC meat supply isn't too tight. (I don't know how much they sell for in the gift shop, since they only sell to 7 ascensions and above...)

Shouldn't be a problem, assuming the timing works out ronin-wise. They're only 1000 meat, so even if I'm in ronin, it should be doable (unless it's day 1, but I can't image ascending then).

I've got mixed feelings about this. On the one hand, Zombie clearly loves the genre and wants to do something good. On the other hand, House of 1000 Corpses blew giant chunks of baboon flesh.

On the third hand, I'll pretty much see any Halloween.

in KH2 the poster duty in 30 seconds needs lots of leveling up and lots of luck, it took me 27 tries to get it done. it took 3 weeks for the journal to be complete, good luck and remember dont smash the controller the secret ending is available online .... its pretty badass tho o-0!!!!

From what I've read, it pretty much takes major leveling of all the special forms. I suspect I'll finally just give up and check out the endings online after a while, but it's fun trying all the quests.

yeah it took me abt 2.5 weeks of levelling up before i could finish the higher level quests. i somehow managed to squeek by with most of the hard ones so i got to see it and it will throw you for a loop, like i said its worth the effort .... or the googling =P
