Title: "You're Pitiful"

A parody of a certain whiny easy-listening mega-hit from last year. Download it here.

Al's page has a bunch of alternate links if that one doesn't work.

I have no idea what it's parodying. I have successfully avoided the radio!

Heh, I was just thinking the same thing.

I do know this one's going in the iCorwin tonight when I get home :)

We do not, in fact, have that book. But do we *have* to get it? Can you pick it up from PaperbackSwap and save our Amazon.com credit for something not boring?

I was planning to get it with pbs, which is why I wanted to know asap. :-)

Oh, good! (We should pick out stuff to get with the Amazon credit this weekend.)

And she's not boring, dammit!

*long-suffering sigh*

She's okay. I'm not going to mock you for wanting the book. But with all of that stuff from authors we're both major fans of coming out soon...

You were the one who introduced me to her stuff, you realize? :-)

Yes, and you were the one who introduced me to Laurell K. Hamilton!

I am going to be extremely nosy into your conversation because I want to know who the author is you're talking about??

(knowing is half the battle)

The only reason I know the original song is that a friend of mine was deserpately trying to find a way to download it a few months ago. I don't listen to the radio so otherwise I would never know about it. I actually kind of like the song. It's grown on me.

This Weird Al song feels..well...unnecessarily harsh. It's not really funny to me, just cruel. I'm sure it's just me though.

That's what's great about Weird Al -- even when he's not at his best, he's always worth a listen.

Well, okay, the polkas are getting old and I end up skipping them on his albums now, but other than those...

It's funny that I read this post as the song that is parodied is playing in the background here at work. :)

I've never heard the original but I guessed that the chorus was probably "You're beautiful" - and thanks so much for pointing this out! I love me some Weird Al. :)
