I am glad she didn't become a literature prof. That would have been HORRIBLE.

There are lots of folks who talk about how they could/would have been a professor, but I don't have the slightest reason to believe that Laurell would have made it to, let alone through, grad school. And she sure as hell hasn't shown any indications of actually being very familiar with canon literature.

For some reason, I'm also very amused by the idea of her being a working scientist. I mean, she won't use editors. She'd freak at the peer review process.
