Finished Blind Lake on Tuesday. It might be my favorite of RCW's novels after Spin. Damned fine.

I started reading the much-hyped His Majesty's Dragon yesterday, and I'm about halfway through it. It's fun fluff -- really little more than a typical boy's adventure (that the hero is a decorated naval officer instead of a ten-year-old boy changes little), but perfectly readable as such things go. And I'm a sucker for the setting itself.

Finally, we got a copy of Crown Duel (by the quite nifty [livejournal.com profile] sartorias) in the mail as well, but [livejournal.com profile] shadesong has dibs on that one.

Ooo! Ooo! I LOVED Crown Duel. Best YA book I had read in a long time.

It turns out that the author of His Majesty's Dragon is someone I was friends with in college. We've sadly slipped out of touch, but she was a really awesome person when I knew her (and I'm sure she still is). I'm thrilled that she's a published author now. Go Nao! Once my stupid time-sucking summer class is over, I'm going to have to read that.
