Tony Bourdain

A couple of weeks ago, someone (hangingfire, I believe) noted that Tony Bourdain was amongst those trapped in Beirut. The good news is (as noted by robyn_ma), that he made it home safely. Alas, it doesn't sound like he got enough material for a show on the city.

I adore Lebanese food (okay, I adore all food), but I know that my experience with Lebanese cuisine is limited (only two restaurants, one of which was a cheap one that was open Emory Village until a few years ago). I'd have liked to see Bourdain show the real deal.

I have family in Lebanon. (Maybe not anymore.) Anyway, let me know what you want to try and I'll get recipes for you.

It's not so much that I wanted to try to make the recipes as it is that I wanted to see Tony explore the local food culture.

Thanks for the update; I had been wondering. And I would've liked to have seen that show too. I hope, at least, that he writes something about it; I'd be very interested to read his perspective on events.
