Stress 1, Medical Science 0
Aug. 21st, 2006 11:44 amSo, I've got my physical scheduled for 3PM today. The recorded phone message from the Clinic on Friday said that I shouldn't eat for eight hours before the exam, otherwise I'd have to get blood drawn on a different day. That would mean not eating anything (or getting more coffee!) after 7AM.
I tried.
But today is also a day of monumental fallout from the weekend upgrade. It's also the start of the Twelve Straight Days of Work. I've already responded to more panicked calls for help today than I had in the last two weeks. And it's only going to get worse.
No fucking way could I make it eight hours.
I'll just deal with not eating breakfast at home and coming in tomorrow morning to get stabbed in the arm.
Stupid "eight hours." Dr. McCoy would call the very concept barbaric. I want my fucking medical tricorder.

i hope the 12 straight days are okay for you, and I'm looking forward to seeing you tomorrow or whenever I come to see Gwyn this week.

IT (I know, this is not your responsibility/fault, but I just need to vent) has left CC in a mess: in spite of my repeated calls to IT last week about this situation (I was trying to get it fixed BEFORE the Twelve Days), due to upgrades and the mess with ResNet we now have all of five public machines (3 kiosks, 2 lab machines) on the whole entire campus that connect to the internet, and a few more lab machines that work but don't connect to the internet . . . they're all in the SAAC, and given interim hours that means that T3h Intarweb can only be accessed from 8 AM to 8 PM. I can hardly wait for more people to move in *facepalm*.
