Thanks to the power of Youtube and copyright violations (not committed by me, because I'd have posted it in widescreen and started the clip a few seconds earlier), I give you the funniest scene ever deleted from a movie: The Penis Song, from the unrated version of The Sweetest Thing.

Not safe for work. At all.

I don't believe it was ever deleted from the movie -- the first time I saw it, on cable, the song was in the film.

It's a freakin' hilarious (and often quite raunchy) movie, by the way, totally mismarketed on release as a lightweight chick flick. Patrick bought me the DVD, and I've been known to force friends to watch it, telling them, "No, no, no -- this movie is SO not what you'd expect ..."

I do know that sometimes they put things that were cut out back in for the TV version. But I don't know if this thing was not in the theatrical cut, as I've never even seen the movie.

Totally mismarketed. I saw it with a bunch of my friends in college, and it was not at all what we expected. Of course we loved it.

Did you see it on PPV? Sometimes PPV versions are unrated versions. Occasionally, the premium movie networks will show unrated versions, too, but they normally make a big fuss about it (aside from IFC, Flix and Sundance, for whom uncut movies are pretty much stock in trade).

No, I saw it on HBO or Cinemax. It's also been on Comedy Central and, as I recall, the penis song was included in their broadcast, too.

Presumably only on Comedy Central in their "Secret Stash" airings (i.e. late Saturday night)? It's pretty much "anything goes" during that slot, but sadly only during that slot. I rather imagine the song would have been bleeped into virtual nonexistence during "normal viewing hours".

Awesome movie but OY on that song. Heh. It takes a lot to embarrass me, but my kids were watching that movie with me. Heh.

I've been searching for the unrated version of that movie just for that song. Thank you!
