I have similar conversations with my partner, so I don't doubt it happened.
I *had* wondered, though, whether the conversation was inspired by John Scalzi's taping bacon to a cat. But I also belive in the joyous power of coincidence.
It wasn't (although I did love Scalzi's post, even if it was a waste of perfectly good bacon). I think there's just a certain mindset that thinks of bacon as the first possible option in any number of situations.
The Redhead and I have been every bit as strange if not more for the past 21 years. It's been a bit harder due to the job-required separation, but I've tried to make up for it via email.
I sent her one yesterday that apparently has resulted in Healthways demanding payment for a new monitor. :)
