Huge Amazon DVD sale
Oct. 16th, 2006 08:54 amIt's that time of the year again -- when Amazon starts doing massive DVD sales hoping to get folks buying $Winterholiday presents early.
The current batch of sales:
40-50% off Sony "Art House" films. : Good ones here include Kung Fu Hustle and House of Flying Daggers at $10.97 each (45% off) and good deals on The House of Mirth, Ma Vie En Rose, and 3-Iron, amongst others.
Save 40-50% on Sony Documentaries: Lots of good stuff, including Crumb, The Fog of War, and Why We Fight.
Save 40-50% on Sony "Sleeper" hits: Sleepers include The Opposite of Sex, The Tao of Steve, Junebug, and Pollock.
Save up to 50% on Warner Home Video Animated DVDs.: Easily my favorite of the sales, if only because of Teen Titans Season 1 for $9.97 (50% off). That's also the price point for Season 1 of The Batman. There's also collections of Cartoon Network Halloween specials for under $8, and lots of Magic School Bus, Hi Hi Puffy AmiYumi, and Codename Kids Next Door stuff.
And finally, there's Save up to 50% on an entirely different batch of Warner Animated DVDs: This one has lots of Flintstones, Johnny Quest, Batman: TAS, X-Men Evolution, and other collections. Almost all of 'em are at the full 50% off (including my personal favorite, The Perils of Penelope Pitstop).
There's also a handful of bargains that aren't a part of these sales:
The Polar Express Gift Set (with snow globe and toy): $22.97 (50% off)
Batman Begins (two-disc Deluxe Edition): $14.99 (52% off).
Fight Club (Special Edition) $13.88 (49% off).
Mulan (2-disc special edition, and until Weird Al's "White and Nerdy" video, the best use of Donny Osmond): $17.97 (40% off)
