New B5 movie coming straight-to-DVD!

The article does not say if it'll blow as much as most of Season 5 did, but the presence of Tracy Scoggins surely gives some indication there.

Which doesn't mean I won't buy it the day it comes out, of course.

If you don't mind clicking over to Ain't It Cool News, the site posted a message from jms himself about the movies. It includes a note that he found a way to make nods to both Andreas Katsulas and Richard Biggs in the scripts he wrote.

I'm optimistic, myself. I think and hope jms learned a lot from Season 5 and how not to do the show.

JMS blew his wad in season 4.

He hasn't put out much of value since.

I haven't read many comics, but I hear he's done horrible things to Spider Man as well.

I wouldn't mind if it was at the same level as season five, I'm scared that it'll blow as much as Legend of the Rangers, which was quite simply the worst thing JMS has ever written, and that's a fairly crowded field....

Heh. Rangers was SOOO bad. I just remember JMS defending it on Usenet, specifically the hilariously bad sequence where the girl was punching the spaceships to target them.

That might be the worst thing I've ever seen on TV.

My thoughts on Legend of the Rangers (or, as I called it, "We live for the one, we die with a 1.7!") can be found here. (http://www.sff.net/people/krad/b5lr.htm)

I forgot about that, but am laughing laughing my ass off at the memory of it.

Hee. That's bad, but the scene I was thinking of (it's all coming back to me) is the one where she has a fit blowing up mines (I think it was mines).

I think the real question is whether it will be as bad as the TV movies, which are almost unwatchable.
