Today's Amazon deals -- Arrested Development and more!

Amazon's got a bunch of new DVD sales, including:

50% off on Assorted TV series: This one includes some repeats (Kids in the Hall, Homicide, Danger Mouse), and some new stuff (Ellen, Highway to Heaven, Nero Wolfe, Inked).

Save 50% on assorted History Channel DVDs. This is my favorite one, with the complete run of A History of Britain, True Caribbean Pirates, a season of Weird U.S., and tons of other docs that I really really don't need to spend the money on right now.

Yet another 50%-off British TV Sale. This one includes my two favorite DVD sets -- The Complete Emma Peel Avengers and The Complete Prisoner -- as well as The Saint, The Tomorrow People, The Wind in the Willows, and the Eric Idle version of The Mikado. Some very, very nifty stuff here.

There's also another 40-50% off TV sale, focusing mainly on Fox titles this time (Harsh Realm, Malcolm in the Middle, King of the Hill, The Shield) with some others (Roswell, Stargate, NYPD Blue) thrown in randomly.

Aside from the group sales, their Deal of the Day is the complete 3-season set of Arrested Development for $33.79 (67% off)!

The Leapfrog Fly Pen Bundle from yesterday is no longer Deal of the Day, but has only risen to $69.99 (still;l 61% off).

Over in videogames:

Phantasy Star Universe for the X-Box 360 is $29.99 (50% off).

Baten Kaitos Origins for the Gamecube is also $29.99 (25% off).

Magical Starsign for the Nintendo DS is $19.99 (33% off).

And for the PC, Titan Quest is $19.99 (60% off), as is Lego Star Wars: The Original Trilogy (33% off).

In the kitchen store, two new Calphalon deals, each at $19.99: The Calphalon Commercial Hard-Anodized 2-1/2-Quart Shallow Saucepan with Lid (83% off) and the Calphalon Commercial Nonstick 10-Inch International Griddle/Crepe Pan (76% off). My problem with Calphalon is that the name makes me think of the Transformers, and I don't want to find my saucepans turning into dump trucks or helicopters. If you can get over that hurdle, these are good deals.

Finally, in music, Celtic Woman: A Christmas Celebration is going for $7.99 (58% off), and Al Green's Greatest Hits is going for $3.99 (78% off)!

No problem. I'm pretty sure that Danger Mouse was in one of the previous sales from the last few weeks, but there've been so many of them, I could well be thinking of something else. :-)

I like the way that most of the programmes mentioned in the BBC bit were never actually BBC programmes!

Dammit! The Arrested Development set would be so perfect for my husband, but I will be murdered if I spend one more cent on him for Christmas. :(

Odd twist: Later in the day, he told me he had seen something that he wanted to get me that was ordinarily over $100, but was selling for $34. I told him that was interesting, because I had also seen something for him for $100+ that was on sale for that amount. After a brief pause, we tossed enough clues back and forth that it became obvious we'd been planning to get each other the same gift. :P End result was just buying it for "the house," and not to count towards Christmas at all. ;)

I was only planning on ever buying the first season of Arrested Development because I didn't like the other two as much... but damn, that's a good deal. I may be forced to give in!
