Boston-area folks (particularly ones with knowledge of Watertown and surrounding areas):

Where's a good place to get a men's haircut?

I'm less picky about price than I am quality and consistency.

Answers involving "flowbee" or "Supercuts" will be ignored.

I got mine cut in Cambridge. I forget the name of the barber, but it's right next to Rosie's Bakery on Mass Ave, by Porter's Square (behind the T stop).

You could always put a bowl on your head and let Elayna cut it.

There's a little barbershop on Main Street in Waltham, across from the park by the commuter rail station, about a block away from In A Pickle. Decent, cheap, and I haven't had a complaint.

Been there. Good men's barbershop, and they re-string tennis rackets, too.

Clintons, on Mt. Auburn near Harvard Square.

He's wonderful, the space is great, the quality and consistency are amazing. I have no idea what he charges for a men's cut, but mine (curly, to my mid back, and later a shorter slightly above the shoulder cut) ran $45 - highly reasonable for women's hair in Boston/Cambridge. The best thing I can say is that even though my hair grows unusually fast and a short cut usually requires monthly maintenance, I could get away with 6-8 weeks between cuts with Clinton because they kept their shape.

I'm contemplating discounting "Hair cuttery" as well. Service from that chain has totally gone downhill in my experience... :-(

Mario's, in Davis. They've been the consistent chop shop of choice for me, J, and many of J's friends for years.
