The good news: July 21 is the date.

The bad? List price of $34.99. Even with the Amazon 46% discount, that ain't cheap for a YA book.

Not that I didn't just pre-order it or anything, anyway.

That was my first thought.

Then again, as long as it's not delayed to 7/7/77, I'll be (somewhat) happy.

I stuck it in my shopping cart at Amazon; I don't know if I'll do the release party at Barnes and Noble again this time; last time was nuts.

We had our 6½-month-old son with us that night for a release party...

I brought my neice and son last time; they had a blast but it got so late for them by the time I got to check out and they were VILE.

Plus the Barnes and Noble I went to was in a town I'm not too crazy about. Next time I'm going to Borders if I go or to a BN in the town where I grew up.

Too cute BTW, too cute!! :-)

We went to Books-A-Million for the book 6 release, since it's the nearest bookstore to us.

No, I wore that a few times around Halloween (trick or treating, to Rocky Horror, etc.) I've been to Disney a few times, but never seen the Wiggles live.

The reason why YA books are cheaper is because they tend to be shorter. That really won't be the case here, given that any one of the previous few books could've been used to wipe out an entire colony of cockroaches in one shot.

Thirty-five bucks for a hardcover the size of Rhode Island is fairly standard market price....

Paperbacks now start at 8 bucks minimum so 35 for a hardcover is the norm.

Plus its going to be on sale EVERYWHERE so if you do wind up spending 35 bucks for it, you don't know where to shop!

At Costco it will probably be about 17 bucks or so.
