Wednesday Morning thoughts/linkdump
Apr. 4th, 2007 09:18 am1. Man, I've got a lot of open Firefox tabs.
2. Mets are 2-0! WIth seven double plays so far this year. 'Course, I wouldn't mind seeing them show a wee bit of power, as well.
3. Lots of information on the assorted breakdowns in the pet food recall situation.
4. It's web 2.1! Of course, the company doing all this bragging doesn't actually have a product to show yet. But hey, their press release says they'll kick ass, so who am I to disagree?
5. Bloomsbury is looking to create the "MySpace of the books world." Which will presumably be different from Shelfari, LibraryThing, GoodReads, and Revish. And besides, when you think of MySpace, don't you just immediately think of literate, well-read folks?
6. I'm late to this party, but the Alanis Morisette video/cover of "My Humps" just kicks ass. And I'm not even an Alanis fan (other than for her fine work as God in Dogma).
7. A web 2.0 site where teens and tweens can design and share clothing styles. I don't doubt that Elayna will get hooked on it.
8. Looks like the Mozilla folks are also moving into the Web 2.0/social networking arena.
9. Google Desktop is finally available for the Mac! Yay!

Date: 2007-04-04 05:37 pm (UTC)the only problem with it is if it crashes and you bring it back up when it asks you if you want to restore your tabs it only restores one screen worth

Date: 2007-04-04 05:42 pm (UTC)But an actual warning (possibly not quoted exactly) I got today in FF: "You are about to open 153 tabs. This might cause Firefox to slow down while the pages open. Are you sure you want to do this?"

Date: 2007-04-04 05:12 pm (UTC)Sure. Maybe not first, but not that far down the list: Music, people I went to high school with, people I work with, and, finally, well read folks, most of whom are also on LJ, many from TH. Some of the others are also fairly well read.
I guess it all depends on what you're using MySpace for and who you associate with over there.
