1. Thanks to dicotomygrrl, we now have issue two of the Buffy Season 8 comic. Yay! And I want issue three now, dammit. It's so damned good (and better than Season 7 ever was).

2. Amazon's Deal of the Day is the Buffy The Vampire Slayer 40 Disc Collector Set for $98.99 (51% off) and free shipping! That's a killer deal, except for the fact that we already own Seasons 1-6.

3. Having now watched the first three episodes of Drive (produced by Buffyverse alum Tim Minnear, and starring Buffyverse alum Nate Fillion), I'm damned impressed.

4. Icon request: Anyone have screencaps of the first Andy Barker, PI (produced by Buffyverse alum Jane Espenson)? I need screencaps showing Tony Hale in front of the sign saying, "Find Out Why Your Favorite Movie Sucks -- $1."

I stumbled onto the new Buffy comic and am very happy that I did. Need to get the Drive episodes, I only saw one commercial for it and that looked decent.

How is Andy Barker?

Andy Barker isn't as funny as Andy Richter Rules the Universe, but it's way funnier than Quintuplets. Alas, it looks like it's headed for the cancellation bin.

Yeah. Them dumping TWO episodes on a Saturday night death slot PLUS apparantly airing episodes in the wrong order (the continuity doesn't work the way they've aired now) AB, P.I. be doomed. I wish I could get into Drive, but I thought everyone who wasn't Fillon kind of sucked. Though it does have the dude who played Jubal Early. So maybe it will grow on me...

What continuity got messed up? Or is this something from the second Saturday ep (I still haven't watched that one)?

I don't like a lot of the Drive characters, but a lot of that has to do with them simply being deliberately annoying characters (Taryn Manning's being the most obvious).

Though it does have the dude who played Jubal Early.

In the second episode there are several moments dealing with his wife and his now being dual-classed in detective and cpa. Even though he doesn't tell her he's going forward with the detective thing until the 3rd episode...

Plus some of the interaction between the Older Detective and his other friends from the shopping complex (I can't remember anyones names right now). At least a couple of episodes look to have been shown out of order. If they decide to do a Complete Series dvd set it will be easier to tell...

You know, the numbers for that collection are the same as when we bought ours a couple of weeks ago (we only had seasons 2 and 3 on DVD and the rest on VHS, and had been meaning to upgrade for a while). Except we paid in UK pounds, not dollars. Oh well.

It is the most gorgeous set, though. Seriously, it's the most efficiently and tightly-packaged DVD set I have ever owned.

*nod* I was pissed when they announced it, and I still do lust after it. Just can't justify spending that much on what amounts to a slight upgrade on our current collection (especially since there was very little that I'd ever care to watch again during Season 7).

I really enjoyed the first three episodes of Drive as well. I think this one is a series that Fox may actually hang onto and run in the right order, unlike the last show Fillion was on... (yes I'm a Firefly fan...)
