Just read this lovely article.

The technical term (as coined by Henry Rollins regarding Ann Coulter) for what you need to do is to Shut The Fuck Up.

(And it goes without saying that this applies to the FCC as well; in fact, this smacks of current FCC policies, to the extent that I actually misread which organization was fucking with things at first).

It's like one of my professors used to say: "The government is the enemy of the people."

The studios increasingly slip unrated material into DVDs, then sell them as being somehow more attractive than the rated versions. Funny, all my DVD's have a "bonus material is unrated" notification on them.

Sigh.

The bad news is that government spends a lot of time on these sorts of things, a symptom of being unable to blame an actual person for anything that happens.

The good news is that government proves largely ineffectual in acting on these sorts of things (See the current ratings scheme on video games and music). What to watch out for is larger media conglomerates deciding to move away from genres that they feel would get their CEOs spending a lot of time testifying to the Senate. Soft censorship is the wave of the future.
