This list is supposedly the top ten worst-selling video game systems of all time, but (as the opening paragraph acknowledges), it's more a listing of high-profile flops.

I've owned three of these: The Jaguar, The TurboGrafx-16, and the Dreamcast, and I only regret the Jaguar (which simply never blew me away, game-wise). The other two kicked ass and took names.

Also, if I'd had more money at the time, I'd definitely have owned a Saturn, as well.

The really tragic part of TG-16 was that it was this advanced system at the time and it just flopped. I think I paid 100 for mine which was about the same price as the NES.

It may have had a small library, but it was filled mostly with awesome games, much like the Dreamcast. The only things either one lacked were RPGs.

Interesting. I'd never even heard of most of those.

The TurboGrafx-16 was sufficiently impressive that I have an emulator for it. I uninstalled almost all of my emulators when I stopped playing video games without "Revolution" in the title (though the Wii may lure me back) but I do recall being very impressed by certain titles.

I still want a Dreamcast. So many damn good titles never came out for anything else! (Though I'd have to learn Japanese to play most of them, I bet.)

I used to have a formula I'd use for deciding when to buy a console. When the total cost of all of its must-have games (in my sole opinion) is double the cost of the system, it's worth owning. The Playstation took two years to reach that point, and the X-Box never got there.

The Jaguar has the distinction of being the only system I've heard of that has ever ended its run with a $0 score. I've never seen one game for it that qualified as a must-have or even a kinda-want. I remember liking the sound of at least a couple of N-Gage titles.

But ... the Apple Pippen? I didn't even know that ever actually existed.

And Sonic CD was not the best Sonic game of all time. I will grant that it had the best music. But not the best Zones. And it's the Zones that matter. (Especially since I have the soundtrack album.)

The only bad part about the Dreamcast was the stupidly-designed controllers. Lots of sharp angles, uncomfortable triggers, and that dumb cord coming out of the *front* of it. And, yet, that quickly is forgotten when playing Crazy Taxi...

Gametrailers.com did a video version of this, but it was less about worst selling and just worst conceived. Therefore Dreamcast isn't on their list.

It's on their front page right now actually.

The best part about TG-16 was that one of their best games got banned. Splatterhouse opened up all kinds of doors for video game violence that had never existed before.

I'm going to find mine when I go home and hook it up again.

I still have my Dreamcast and my Saturn. In fact, I bought another Saturn off eBay when mine died, just so I could keep playing Baku Baku Animal.

My Saturn is still hooked up. Of course, I haven't played a console game in years, but that's not because of lack of interest nor good platforms....
