OMG I remember that show. That and V and Otherworld (was it?)... early 80s sci-fi TV made me who I am today. Wow.

Otherworld! I loved that show! It was probably nine types of awful, but I was young. About the only details I can remember about it (other than the overall concept) are A) the brother and sister introduced rock and roll to that world, and B) on one town, there was a machine that automatically graded a kid's paper.

I seem to recall there were a lot of big helmets in that show. Wonder if that's where Brooks got his for Spaceballs.

That's my perpetual fear with any show of my youth. I know that I was less discriminating then (the Piers Anthony collection I got rid of in college proves it), and it's sometimes nicer to just retain fond memories of a show.

*nods* There are a lot of shows I have trouble watching now because of that, but I've actually been downloading Mysterious Cities of Gold and surprisingly, despite the cheezieness, its holding my interest.

It requires a modicum of handwaving. For example, whatever nation or time they go to, the natives always speak modern English.

If you want to look at Voyagers to refresh your memory before investing in it, I have some DVDs burnt from VCR tapes of the show that I picked up a couple of years ago.

In my opinion, scholastically mildly decent...plot uneven...acting terrible.

I still recall the ep where they went backt help Charles Lindburgh get ready to fly to Paris..and Jonathan Frakes played Lindbergh...saw the ep rerun when Next Gen was a big hit took off and thought "If they dont get him in that plane and he makes the flight, his descendant Will Riker will never get into space!"
