OMG I remember that show. That and V and Otherworld (was it?)... early 80s sci-fi TV made me who I am today. Wow.

I seem to recall there were a lot of big helmets in that show. Wonder if that's where Brooks got his for Spaceballs.

Yeah, Wikipedia is on the case:

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Otherworld_%28TV_series%29

And yes, while it was probably awful, the concepts there were fertile ground for 10-year-old me.

Otherworld. Do you mean the show with the family who dimension hop into a police state?

*nods* There are a lot of shows I have trouble watching now because of that, but I've actually been downloading Mysterious Cities of Gold and surprisingly, despite the cheezieness, its holding my interest.

It requires a modicum of handwaving. For example, whatever nation or time they go to, the natives always speak modern English.

That's true of any sci-fi show, even now.

If you want to look at Voyagers to refresh your memory before investing in it, I have some DVDs burnt from VCR tapes of the show that I picked up a couple of years ago.

In my opinion, scholastically mildly decent...plot uneven...acting terrible.

Pish tosh. No matter how bad it was, it was GREAT.

It will be fun to watch this and remember the time before Meeno Peluce was such a big star.

I still recall the ep where they went backt help Charles Lindburgh get ready to fly to Paris..and Jonathan Frakes played Lindbergh...saw the ep rerun when Next Gen was a big hit took off and thought "If they dont get him in that plane and he makes the flight, his descendant Will Riker will never get into space!"

What would I do without you?? :)

Even if it's not as good as we remember it, we can always devise a "Voyagers Drinking Game."
