Second -- Wildstorm? That's...weird, even with the San Diego tie-in. The 2 thoughts that jump to mind are:
Is this a sign of a higher level of mature subjects, ala Rob's initial thought to sell to HBO?
Does it mean they'll tie it into the Wildstorm Universe proper? Not sure I like that idea, even if I did do a DC Heroes writeup (http://www.writeups.org/affiche_fiche.php?id=3133) for Veronica.
I think I'll muse on it, maybe post my thoughts in the AM.
Unless Greg Rucka is writing it, cause he's the best choice for it.
Oh, dear god, no. Six years ago, maybe, but Rucka's recent years have blown horribly. And if the comic doesn't go the flash-forward/FBI route, he's got nothing for it.
I'm not horribly upset at the idea of someone other than Rob writing it; he only wrote about a sixth of the TV episodes, so as long as he helps plot arcs and becomes, essentially, the comic's showrunner, I'll be happy.
As for my choice of writer, I'd like to see Mike W. Barr or Max Alan Collins, who have put together the only decent ongoing mystery comics I've cared about (Maze Agency and Ms. Tree, respectively).

Date: 2007-06-19 01:47 pm (UTC)I think if Atticus and Veronica Mars met it could be some great stuff. Hell if Veronica hired Atticus' firm to do some muscle for her.
I don't want Mars, FBI. Mars should be a P.I. through and through... working L.A. or something.
At least that's what I want.
Somewhere along the way she can also shoot Nancy Drew in the head and be "I used to sooooo admire you".
