I just watched the preview for the new movie version Underdog.

Someone needs to find director Frederik du Chau and writers Adam Rifkin, Joe Piscatella, and Craig Williams and slap them all. Hard and often.

This actually looks worse than I thought it could ever be. And as I mentioned months ago, it's not like I had high expectations.

I won't link to the trailer (which I saw while watching last week's episode of The Closer on Tivo). Trust me, you don't want to see it. You could spend ten minutes looking at goatse archives without seeing something this awful.

And why the fuck does Rifkin still keep getting paychecks, anyway?

I saw that the other day too...within the first few seconds, I was sitting, head in hands, going "this is going to be bad...bad, bad bad...there's no way it could be good"

And does Jason Lee(voice of Underdog) have a career death wish between this and the Xmas release Alvin and the Chipmunks...good thing he has Earl or in 2008 he'd be calling Kevin Smith begging for a Mallrats II

Seriously- I'm looking at his resume on IMDB, and the only item I see that doesn't simply make me cringe is Small Soldiers. (Not surprising, as Joe Dante directed it. Man, when is he gonna release a new film?)

I'm old enought that I GREW UP watching Underdog and I have fond memories of it. Based on the trailer I saw, the Garfield movies are fine art compared to what they did to my Underdog.

To be fair, the trailer I saw made it look like it could be a fun, unpretentious movie -- which just happens to have no relation whatever to Underdog.

But Peter Dinklage man! PETER DINKLAGE!

I know it looks fucking terrible. And yet I STILL might go see it. Dinklage is just THAT awesome...

i acknowledge that it fully looks horrid beyond belief, but the fact that brad garret and jim belushi are in it makes me kinda want to see it. well, not see it. have it described to me. well, not even that.

in short, i admire her commitment to community service.

Because they confuse him with Ron Rifkin and therefore actually think he's cool? *shrugs*
