That copy of The Wilds I needed to sell to help cover Max's vet bills? Put it on Amazon at a much higher price than I was selling it for here, and it was bought in less than 24 hours (which probably means the price was too low, but I couldn't afford to let an eBay auction cycle go by). Yay!

Alas, it cost over $25 to mail it (Amazon's reimbursement is only $12.49). The only cheaper option (which still cost over $12) didn't offer any chance of insurance or tracking, and there's no way I'm shipping a valuable book overseas without those options. Annoying, but a lesson learned. I'll no longer offer the international shipping option when selling through Amazon.

And even with that hit, the book made enough money to cover Max's bill.

Truly, you are both wise in the ways of the internet, and yet but an egg.

But good for Max!

I'm so glad you made enough for Max's medical bills!

You did it through Amazon, right?

Just make sure you cover ALL your bases. I've never had problems before, but since trying to sell the camera I've got up for sale there now I've had more phishing/scam attempts than I've ever had before. Amazon is usually really good about knowing what the rate of shipping will be so I would have contacted them first to make sure that this was a legitimate request and not a scam. Especially for something that costs this much to ship.

I'm sure you know all this, but I just wanted to double check since it seems like that's my job in life for my friends. It has annoyed me no end since I would love to sell my camera but after the last time somebody TRIED to scam me, I still had to fight it out with Paypal and my credit card (I refused the payment and they still tried to do a chargeback) so I'm more nervous about these things than ever.

Ps:

I'm really glad you got the medical bills covered. We're still trying to a) get more money toward the cat we rescued from outside that one of our neighbors shot with a pellet gun close enough to shatter the femur AND b) find her a good safe barn home for her to go to since even though she's litter trained and gets along with our pets she doesn't really like people.

I really love seeing people care for their pets the way their pets deserve to be cared for. With a breeder (cat AND dog) for a mother and a Veterinarian for a father I've see all sorts. Even the sorts that make you wish you never saw people having pets.
