From the official summary of the entirely unnecessary sequel to the under-appreciated remake of The House on Haunted Hill:

"Sarah Wolfe was the only living survivor from the massacre at the Vanacutt Mansion. . . "

Say what now?

Sarah and Eddie both survived the first movie.

Granted, I'd fully expect (in typical sequel fashion) to learn that Eddie might have died later, but he definitely survived the massacre.

Not that either Taye Diggs or Ali Larter is in the sequel, anyway.

What made the original remake work was the wonderful cast, a group of folks who recognized the line between camp and horror, and toed it perfectly. Folks like Geoffrey Rush, Famke Janssen, Peter Gallagher, Chris Kattan, and Bridget Wilson, along with Larter and Diggs, carried the film. The sequel gives us Amanda Righetti (aka the only one of the there lead actresses on Reunion who couldn't act) and the woman who wasn't Jordan Ladd in Cabin Fever. Jeffery Combs does return as Dr. Vannacutt, but since that's a role that basically requires looking menacing, it's far from his most memorable turn.

I'll pass on this one until it makes its way to HBO or Showtime.

"Taye Diggs wouldn't be caught dead in such a terrible idea for a sequel, so... we'll just say he died. Or something."

*sigh*

Ya know, it was a great movie. But it was also a remake... so now they're doing sequels of campy remakes? I keep telling myself that I'm past the point of asking whether Hollywood has any shame... I AM past that point... I really am...

I liked both the original film and the remake, but there is no way I would sit through a sequel to the remake, though. It's not one of those horror stories that lends itself to a sequel.

There's a movie in which Chris Kattan dies on screen? Is it a painful death? Does he scream a lot?

Because, I'd pay to see that.

Randomly, who wrote that blurb? Cuz it sucks. The whole DEFINITION of 'survivor' centers around the fact that they, y'know, LIVED THROUGH IT.
