Deborah Kerr has died. She had the lead in a bunch of great films -- Black Narcissus, King Solomon's Mines, An Affair to Remember come to mind -- but From Here to Eternity and The King and I are the ones I best remember her for.

ETA: And, of course, The Innocents and Night of the Iguana*.

*Which has long led my list of "movie titles that sound like they should belong to the horror genre, but don't.

The King and I has always been one of my favorite movies.

First Yul Brynner. Now Deborah Kerr.

I will cry the day Rita Moreno dies.

*sigh* I adored her, she was such a brilliant actress and a great beauty. My favorite role of hers was "Tea and Sympathy"

Deborah Kerr was the blonde that everyone always forgot... she was a better actress than most of her generation... and therefore not as noted, when she should've been.

Beautiful woman. May she rest in peace.
