Fifth of November links
Nov. 5th, 2007 09:46 amHappy Guy Fawkes Day! It's not quite as fun as Salisbury Steak Day or Weasel Stomping Day, but it's still a day filled with more laughs than Yom Kippur!
A few links to dump:
1. For the boardgamers: Amazon/eToys has Nexus Ops for $10.99 (plus $3.99 shipping for a total cost of $14.98). That's ludicrously cheap compared to any other online game store (by about $15 including shipping). The game gets a kick-ass 7.3 rating at Board Game Geek.
2. BTW, I'm on BGG as Yendi (big surprise) if anyone else is on there.
3. I don't watch Saturday Night Live anymore (because I like my late-night comedy like I like my women*), but you can catch the Feist performace of "One, Two, Three, Four" online.
4. For those wanting more info on the WGA and the strike, just read Mark Evanier's blog. It's as good a resource as anything out there.
5. Congrats to the Knicks, who now have as many wins as the Jets. *sigh*
6. Weeds has been renewed for Season 4. Yay!
7. When I heard that Shia LaBouf had been arrested, my first thought was that it was for leaking the title of the next Indiana Jones flick.
8. Lord of the Rings origami! I'm impressed by origami in general, as the best I can do is an origami crumpled ball.
9. Sylvester Stallone wants to remake Death Wish. Didn't Jodie Foster just do that?
10. Finally (for those in the US), don't forget that tomorrow is Election Day! In our small town, there are a bunch of important elections taking place, even if there's nothing notable on a national level. If there's an election you can vote in tomorrow, do so!
*Capable of making me laugh.

10. This is where I get to have real fun because of the Cambridge voting system using STV for the City Council and School Committee. First, find the non-insane challengers, then the least-painful incumbents....

Date: 2007-11-05 10:05 pm (UTC)I did notice in yours that you play Ricochet Robot. I love that game, but you really need to only play with people who get the concept. Others get frustrated and walk away way too fast.
