Jimmy Fucking Rollins is the MVP? No fucking way.

At least eleven of the voters got it right and chose Holliday There were better shortstops than Rollins (not that anyone pays attention to Florida) and better Phillies (but since Utley isn't an outspoken asshole, he barely cracked the top ten).

Rollins should have been third or fourth. At best.

Honestly -- and I don't know why you didn't think this -- David Wright was a better MVP candidate than either one of those other guys. I don't see why he should be penalized for the Mets' failure to reach the postseason considering that Ryan Howard wasn't similarly penalized last year....

But Wright really was the best player in the NL last year.

Oh, I think that Wright had a much better year than Rollins (and, hearing that four players left Wright completely off the fucking ballot has taken away any credulity that the BWAA might have had). He led the league in win shares, and kept his team alive during that terrible September (along with Alou). I just think that I'd have voted for Holliday personally (since I do give at least a slight bump to guys who carry their team into the playoffs). Which also means that I wouldn't have given the award to Howard the year before. Or to Andre Dawson in '87.
