Your Rachael Ray commercials are making me hate you. A lot.

No Love,

I think Portland is Dunkin-less, so avoid these I might...

(Actually, we don't seem to be a great doughnut town, for some reason. Relatively few dedicated doughnut places. We have a doughnut gap. Dear God, I actually think about this stuff!)

True; Voodoo Doughnut stepped strongly into the breach to repair our relative lack of doughnut places. It is a worthy place; I go there sometimes. I haven't yet done the bacon-maple, but I should, in your honor.

We're talking about bacon, after all.

Have you ever written anything like a Tribute To Bacon? If you haven't, you should. Talk about the development of your love affair with the special meat. Try to remember the time before you'd ever had bacon. Do a song, maybe something [livejournal.com profile] robyn_ma-style (like her lime song: "Limes are tasty, limes are good/ Limes refresh like a good fruit should/ Whether you are pure or pervy/ Limes will help you conquer scurvy...").

Really, you should. An Ode To Bacon. There should be one.

"EVOO-Girl"? Just the name makes it sound like a bad idea.

Again: o.O

The other day I was watching Iron Chef America, and it was Bobby Flay/Giada de Laurentiis vs. Mario Batali/Rachel Ray. It was tough figuring out who to root for, since I didn't want to root for either Flay or Ray (hey, that rhymes.) I finally ended up rooting for Batali/Ray just because Flay is such a waste of DNA.

Figures they'd end up on opposite teams...

Accidentally happened on Flay guesting on Ray's show...I was shocked my TV actually survived...

Bobby Flay just annoys me for some reason (much like the fictional Horatio Caine, from CSI: Miami), and I just can't bring myself to watch anything with him in it.

So much so, in fact, that I've never really watched Iron Chef America, even though I liked the original Iron Chef. Initially, I tried just watching the episodes that he wasn't in (and they were actually pretty good), but in the long run, it just wasn't worth the effort.

I'm not sure why he bugs me so much, but he just completely gets under my skin.

Dude. Rooting against Flay is your holy duty. In fact, it's everyone's.

I saw this as well. I wound up deciding it was a lost cause and trying to pick between Giada and Mario as to who to root for.

The Rachel Ray thing is made worse by the fact that several of my co-workers adore her.

I met Rachael Ray once. She was cooler than she is on TV. Bobby Flay, on the other hand, I'd punch in the stomach before I could find out if he's like his TV persona.

It was great. TV Ray and Real Life Ray are like Steve Urkel and Stefan Urquelle.

Having grown up in Alabama, I already knew Dunkin Donuts was evil. The only real donut is the true donut, the Krispy Kreme donut. Other donuts are heretical deceivers that want to just sell you their brand of coffee... THAT THEY SERVE TO YOU IN A STYROFOAM CUP! Blasphemy.

If you're in San Francisco, avoid "Happy Donut" and "Donut World" because those donuts are NOT happy, and Donut World is a desolate wasteland of donuts deep friend in old oil. There's no good local donut shop that I can think of in the city at all. Stick with hitting Tartine in the Mission instead. :)

I have seen that place down there. Scary, scary, scary. I avoid fast food at all times anyway, but if I must eat fast food it never, ever, in any circumstance is in a city location. That's my rule. Fast food in the downtown area of any major metropolitan city is a "never do it" item.
