Jan. 28th, 2008 01:35 pm1. Christopher Nolan has written a wonderful tribute to Heath Ledger.
2. Adult Swim won't show the episodes of Boondocks in which BET is criticized. Because the Adult Swim folks are shocked that Aaron McGruder is criticizing BET. It's not like he ever did that in the comic strip.
3. Torchwood Bloopers!
4. John Cleese has joined Keanu Reeves in the remake of The Day the Earth Stood Still. In a non-comic role. I'm starting to suspect that the final movie will have its name changed to "Springtime for Hitler" before it gets released.
5. Guillermo del Toro is directing The Hobbit (aka the Tolkein book I actually like).
6. CNN's story about another TSA screening test failure is nothing new by itself, but there are some interesting details about what happens when a screener fails, and how they also test the luggage screeners.
7. Here's a damned nifty article on the Phishing undergound, in which we learn that there really is no such thing as honor amongst thieves.
7.5 Do not confuse this for the Phish Undergound, where all you'll learn is that one song can run for 85 minutes, and that the sky looks really, really, really - um, what was I saying?
8. Amazon's Deal of the Day is Season 2 of Prison Break for $25, 58% off.
9. I, for one, am glad to hear that the Blue Man Group does not really use an esophagus cam.
10. Justine Larbalestier writes wonderfully on why borrowing plots and ideas is not plagiarism.
11. Finally, remember to visit Yendiopolis! We currently need a few parks as well as more visitors.

Date: 2008-01-28 06:47 pm (UTC)There are two roles that he's work well in. One is the scientist that Klatuu contacts. The other is one of the other roomies at the boarding house.
And Klatuu isn't a very emotional guy, so Keanu may actually not be TOO bad. The rest of the cast is actually pretty good.

Date: 2008-01-29 05:09 am (UTC)I still think they should have cast Keanu as Gort, and gotten an actor for Klaatu.

Date: 2008-01-28 06:53 pm (UTC)I hope the judge slams the guy suing for perjuring himself and filing a bogus lawsuit - and that the media picks it up and makes an example of the idiot. This sort of BS lawsuit really needs to stop.
