Saturday was Movie Day, when we caught three flicks. In order:

Wall-E.

Wow.

If this film doesn't touch you, you're a lot less human than any of the characters in the movie. Need to see it again. And again. It's just an amazing film about what it means to be human, and what it means to love.

If there's been a better movie this year -- live-action or animated -- I haven't seen it.

The Incredible Hulk.

Meh. Not terrible, and there are some great moments, but it's still Bruce being Angstly McAngst. And they turn Doc Sampson into a pointless clone of the characters that James Marsden plays in X-Men/Superman Returns, but without the spine or personality. The action sequences are good, and the Mr. Blue gimmick is less annoying here than it was when saddled with Bruce Jones's ponderous plotting and dialogue. Still, they could have done so much more with this.

Iron Man.

Oh, holy shit. This is how you do a super-hero movie.

Just a fucking thrill ride, from start to finish. Favreau nailed it. As did Downey.

Two great movies sandwiching an okay one. I can deal with that.

Wall-E is so good that I'm going to go see it theaters again--something I *never* do, and so good that I plan on buying it--again, something I *never* do. Whoa. So good.

I thought Wall-E was wonderful. Pixar tops themselves everytime. I'm beginning to suspect some kind of devil/crossroads deal.

Btw, I'm still interested in the graphic novels (100 Bullets and Cerebus)if you're still looking to sell them. Email at citizenjason(at)gmail

Since I love the Ang Lee movie, I could have done with more angst since that Hulk Smash shit was boring me senseless.

AHHHHH, Iron Man ROCKED. LOVED IT. The dialogue was outstanding, so natural!

I think I'll wait to see WALL•E again until it comes out on Blu-ray. It just made me bawl too much. I adored it, but even thinking about it (especially the ending) makes me all teary-eyed. And I'm not an easy cry. Not to spoil it for those who haven't seen it yet, but when WALL•E starts compacting stuff again? That was it. I was a puddle of tears and snot. And I'd even spoiled myself for the ending so I knew that particular turn of events wouldn't last.

I loved both Wall-E and Iron Man to death, and plan on seeing both of them again.

Iron Man was fun in the moment. It's plot does not stand up to more than a few seconds of thinking it through, however. I'm looking forward to the other two movies.

I thought this hulk was really good, but I admit part of it was I was smitten with the aerial shots of the faevellas and the depth of banners characterization.
