1. [livejournal.com profile] yuki_onna on how to sleep with a writer. She ends the piece with the question, "what sane person would sign up for that?" I'll assume that's rhetorical, as I'm not sure any sane person ever has.

2. Circuit City, to their credit, recognized that they screwed up in how they handled the Mad Magazine situation.

3. I'm years late to this one, but John Kessel's analysis of Ender's Game is brilliant.

4. [livejournal.com profile] theferrett has yet another great post from Clarion. This one discusses character,

5. I linked to it from my Facebook a few days ago, but Hamlet: The Facebook Edition deserves another link.

6. Formula De is returning. Kind of.

7. IO9 on Cities, as portrayed in Batman (especially post Whooooores Frank Miller) and Heroes.

8. The saddest thing about this list of "25 foods you never knew could be deep fried" is that with the exceptions of olives (which are evil and vile), Cadbury Creme Eggs and Pop Tarts, I'd already at least read about deep-frying the others. And I've tried a bunch of them (including ice cream, tofu, bananas, cheesecake and corn, and maybe eggs if you count the Scotch eggs from Renfests. Wait, I take it back. The saddest thing is the desire to try most of the rest of the items.

9. Justine Larbalestier on being font neutral. I'm actually font chaotic neutral myself; like Justine, I don't really care much about fonts (although I do hate gratuitous font shifts in the middle of books), but if I know that, say, Optima really annoys someone, I get an extra kick out of using it.

10. FInally, it looks like the oft-rumored remake of Inglorious Bastards really is going to happen, finally, with Brad Pitt and Simon Pegg joining the cast.
