As if Michael Bay's attempt to sully horror franchises wasn't bad enough*, now Brett Fucking Ratner is going to produce a remake of Mother's Day. Directed by the moron who gave us Saws 2, 3, and 4 (films that make the original Mother's Day look like Casablanca).

*Sadly, I might consider seeing Bay's Friday the 13th remake on the big screen, as it's my all-time favorite horror franchise. Although this is by the same hacks who gave us the wretched Freddy vs Jason, so there's a good chance this will suck as much as that one did.

If he casts Jackie Chan and Chris Tucker and calls it "Mother's day: Rush Hour 4" then how bad could it be? As long as its a Rush Hour movie, Bret Ratner can direct it. If its any other kind of movie, he is going to have problems....

By the second Rush Hour movie, it became pretty clear that he was going to have problems no matter what franchise he was involved with.

I heard something about Billy Bob Thorton being attached to play Freddy in a relaunch of the Nightmare franchise. Any traction to that rumor?

From what I've heard, it's true. And in honesty, he'd probably be good as the nasty Freddy from the first movie. Then again, I see no need whatsoever to remake the movies.
