Eventually, the mighty have to fall
Sep. 5th, 2008 08:34 amAvril Lavigne's "Girlfriend," the video that argues that guys should date bullies instead of smart girls, and that skanky high-school bathrooms are the place for sex, has surpassed Judson Laipply's The Evolution of Dance as the most-viewed Youtube video.
Here's why and how it happened.
Of course, Laipply doesn't have a multi-million-dollar marketing campaign behind his video. Or a huge viral-marketing campaign going on. So he's still got much to be proud of (and as for me, I've watched "Girlfriend" once, and "The Evolution of Dance" about thirty times).
Maybe if he wears fishnets in his next video, he'll knock Avril out of the top spot.
