Couldn't agree more. I find little comfort in the fact that I'm not the only one that's happened to. However, now when I think people might be talking to me, I've stopped responding immediately in case they're talking on their bluetooth, so instead I just come off as a snob.
My neighbour has one of those things in constantly, and we even look to see if she's talking on it before saying hi or anything....and yet we almost always *still* interrupt her phone conversation. *sigh*
See, I always automatically assume they're talking to themselves, but I lived in Newark for about a year where there were very few bluetooths and a lot of talking to themselves.
To be honest, I love my Bluetooth headset, because it makes it so much easier to talk on the phone while I get things done around my house. If I had a car, I imagine it would also come in handy while driving. However, my Bluetooth doesn't leave my apartment. I'd feel way too douchey talking on it in public.
