I love our library and our library system. But I hate the fact that the library closes at 5 on Friday.

Half a Crown arrived today (via the Wellesley Library; the H20Town one has one on order for their shelves, but it's not in yet), and I won't be able to pick it up until tomorrow morning.

Anyone want to guess where I'll be at 9AM tomorrow?

Yeah, operating hours are always the first thing to go when there are budget cuts, because it's the easiest. Still sucks, though.

It's actually been that way since we moved here (not the result of any recent issues, at least). I'm sure that Friday evenings are slow there; I just wish it were possible to pick up a book after work.

Right, what I'm guessing is that there was a budget cut in the past and they either never recovered or just kept using the money elsewhere and never stopped to think about it. I mean, I'm fully expecting that my first few years in public libraries will be spent working evenings and weekends, which will suck, but whatever, I'm the new kid.
