Well, I voted. Sixteenth ballot slid through the machine this morning at my precinct. There were easily 100 people in line when the polls opened. In our town, I'm more concerned with the ballot initiatives than the presidential race (and I'm curious, in light of the fact that initiatives 2 (making possession of under an ounce of marijuana a civic, not criminal, offense) and 3 (stopping people from torturing dogs under the aegis of "greyhound racing") are on the back of the ballot, if they'll get fewer responses). Gladly voted "no" on the ill-conceived Prop 1, of course. I like our cops, teachers, firemen, and library.

Our town doesn't do "I voted" stickers, which saddens me a bit, although I can think of better ways to spend money (see above). Consider this post my virtual "I voted" sticker.

Depressing news from my mom last night. Her best friend Joan, calling Ohio voters, was told on multiple occasions that they weren't voting for Obama because they couldn't vote for a black man. Really hope those were outliers.

I know there are people that feel that way but it really saddens me.

Oregon does mail in ballots, so no stickers for us either. Although it would be cool if they sent us some in the mail with our ballot!

Aw well. :)

That makes me really sad, but it's not surprising. I feel like that the reason a few of my friends are voting McCain.

That greyhound initiative was on the ballot the last time I voted in Massachusetts, which I think was in 2000. Guess the dogs are still racing.

No stickers in NYC, either. Very sad.
