I figure that it's not fair to compare anyone to Paula.
Valid point. :)
That said, I do like Paulson on her own (she was one of the best things about Studio 60)
I actually liked her more before S60 -- she annoyed me greatly on that show, though honestly, that was probably way more Sorkin's fault than it really was hers.
Which may mean it's good I didn't see S60, as I liked Paulsen a lot in Down With Love. That's really the only big role of hers I've seen (her Serenity appearance was significant but small; I like that Whedon hired her for a dramatic role because he likes to give comic actors the chance to show their dramatic chops, since he figures comic acting is the harder kind of acting).

Ah, Paula. Oh, yes, I'm a fan. I'd like that love to stop being a tragic love, please; Forces That Be, let Paula be in something successful! (Man, I actually watched a bit of Gary Unmarried for her...)

She was also good on season two of Deadwood. I think I'll probably come around on her again once I see a few more things to wipe the memory of her time on S60 out of my mind.

She's definitely at the head of that class of "Awesome People Who Star In Way Too Many Shitty Shows Which Get Canceled Really Quickly." (Though the original Cupid didn't wasn't shitty, even if it did get canceled too quickly.)
I liked the boogie nights line better, but I have to confess it was borderline knowable a decade ago, now it's probably too obscure.
I too adored Paulson in S60, and that softens the blow of no Marshall. I'm not sure anyone could replace Piven for me.
It's kind of weird, I'm getting something like the uncanny valley effect, in that it's *so* close to the original (many of those scenes are straight lifts.) that it's a bit jarring...
Oh, yay! Another guilty pleasure my husband will pretend he's not enjoying when I force him to watch it. (I even got him hooked on gilmore girls eventually)
I have been waiting 9 years for this show to come back on the air. I actually pledged not to watch ABC again until Cupid came back and I only broke that for Lost. Tsk. Silly me. I just should've waited a couple of years.
Me too, but I'm hesitant. ABC already ripped my heart out once by taking Cupid away (and did it again by dumping Pushing Daisies and Eli Stone, and I still haven't forgiven Already Been Cancelled for Sports Night)
