Go to Florida, come back with a puppy

So our annual trip to
shadesong's birth family for Chirstmas ended with us getting a dog. Definitely an unexpected holiday event.
Short version: 'song's aunt found two abandoned dogs in the shopping center where her business is, and took them in to foster them back to good health. 'song and Elayna loved both dogs, but the smaller dog loved them like whoa. As in, would not leave their laps, ever. And would whine like crazy when kept away from his humans. He has abandonment issues, so having someone home most of the day should help with that.
After two days of this, it became clear that we at least needed to try to ask the landlord, who said yes.
So we've now had the experience of traveling with a dog on a plane, and are up to two pets again. His name is Nicodemus, in reference to Nimh (although I note that's also homophonous with the name of the antagonist in Phantasie 1 and 3, two of my all-time favorite games). He's a chihuahua with some sort of mix (based on coloration, possibly German Shepard).
