Amazon Tuesday Deals: Arrested Development, Wii games, MP3s, more DVDs

The Deal of the Day is the Complete Arrested Development for $28.99 (74% off). This was the funniest show of the last ten years (yes, even funnier than 30 Rock), and lasted longer than it had any right to. Get this one if you don't already own it (we grabbed it last December, when it was the Deal of the Day, but a dollar more expensive).

The Holi-Daily TV Deal is The Complete La Femme Nikita for $139.99 (66% off).

Heh. One day after I ask about tactical RPGs on the X-Box, the Video Game Deal of the Day is Operation Darkness for $19.99. This seems to be a true love/hate game, but the positive reviews tempt me.

The 15 Days, 15 Video Game deal is on Wii games, with 20-50% off Rayman Raving Rabbids TV Party, Ben 10, Block Party, Game Party 2, Wario Land: Shake it, and the Wii Perfect Shot Gun.

The MP3 Deal of the Day is Fall Out Boy's Folie à Deux for $3.99.

The other MP3 Deal of the Day is When the World Comes Down, by the All-American Rejects, for $2.99. Considering the fact that the album's release date is today, that's a kind of surprising deal.

The latest free Xmas MP3 is Angels We Have Heard on High, by the Brian Setzer Orchestra. Note that the previous free MP3s are still available (including a cover of the same song by Sixpence None the Richer).

Finally, there's yet another massive (as in 917 total items) DVD sale, with up to 57% off a bunch of items.. Many previous sales are folded into this one, including the Criterion one (still at 35-40% off on most of their titles), but there's a lot of other stuff here too, including Henry Rollins, Anthony Bourdain, Fosse, Murderball, Basket Case, Hershell Gordon Lewis, Before the Devil Knows You're Dead, Zatoichi, Storytellers: Sarah McLachlan, assorted Elite XC discs, and more. There's too much to even try to keep up with here.

Seriously. In the 23nd Century, confused historians, attempting to weed through the post-apocalyptic historical records, will actually refer to sliced bread as "the best thing since Arrested Development."

My son and I just finished watching Arrested Development through Netflix, and we loved it. I was coveting the series. Thanks for alerting me to the deal!

I hadn't, but I'm taking that report with more than a few grains of salt. Aside from the always-dubious quality of British journalism, the entire "Amazon admits it" seems ludicrously and obviously out of context (a manager saying that folks are working their butts off to get orders fulfilled is not the same as one saying that sick leave is denied), and the alleged confirmation of punishing folks for being sick is quote-free and without any attribution. Amazon's denied it officially, and although I'm also willing to take that with a grain of salt, they at least get the benefit of the doubt until proven otherwise.

That said, I'll also be following the story's follow-ups.
