Friday links
Dec. 19th, 2008 10:17 amIt's a snow day! Work's ending at noon. Woohoo! Except for the part where snow shuts down the city. That'll suck.
As for links:
1. Keanu wants to star in a live-action Cowboy Bebop movie. Dear lord, no. No, no, no. No. Granted, Spike has a laconic way about him, but Keanu sucks the life out of everything he touches, like a vampire that feeds on enthusiasm and good writing. I don't want him anywhere near this one.
2. Top Shelf is publishing The Complete Marshall Law! Woohoo!
3. Here's some info on the next season of Torchwood (with some mild spoilers). More importantly, they're bringing on a new actress named Cush Jumbo, which is simply The Best Name Ever.
4. Baz Luhrmann will direct a new version of The Great Gatsby. The best part of the article is the part about how Baz won't focus on Gatsby until he's done with the awards run for Australia. Dream big, Baz.
5. Finally, not a lot of new Amazon Deals (with less than a week until X-Mas, and even less time until Hanukah, I suspect that the mail-order business season has spiked), but the video game deal is The King of Fighters Collection - The Orochi Saga for the PS2 for $7.98 (47% off); the Friday Five MP3 Albums for $5 include Sinatra, The Pretenders, Hinder, Hootie's Darius Rucker, and The Nightmare Before Christmas cover album; and the TPB of Watchmen is down to $11.99 (40% off). But surely you own that last one already, right?
