It's a snow day! Work's ending at noon. Woohoo! Except for the part where snow shuts down the city. That'll suck.

As for links:

1. Keanu wants to star in a live-action Cowboy Bebop movie. Dear lord, no. No, no, no. No. Granted, Spike has a laconic way about him, but Keanu sucks the life out of everything he touches, like a vampire that feeds on enthusiasm and good writing. I don't want him anywhere near this one.

2. Top Shelf is publishing The Complete Marshall Law! Woohoo!

3. Here's some info on the next season of Torchwood (with some mild spoilers). More importantly, they're bringing on a new actress named Cush Jumbo, which is simply The Best Name Ever.

4. Baz Luhrmann will direct a new version of The Great Gatsby. The best part of the article is the part about how Baz won't focus on Gatsby until he's done with the awards run for Australia. Dream big, Baz.

5. Finally, not a lot of new Amazon Deals (with less than a week until X-Mas, and even less time until Hanukah, I suspect that the mail-order business season has spiked), but the video game deal is The King of Fighters Collection - The Orochi Saga for the PS2 for $7.98 (47% off); the Friday Five MP3 Albums for $5 include Sinatra, The Pretenders, Hinder, Hootie's Darius Rucker, and The Nightmare Before Christmas cover album; and the TPB of Watchmen is down to $11.99 (40% off). But surely you own that last one already, right?

Keanu as Spike? GOOD LORD. What if they get Natalie Portman to play Faye? Talk about a tank...

Only five episodes of Torchwood - so they're cutting back on that as well as on Doctor Who.

there will be a real season, just not next year.

Precisely. Who has been cut back for 2009, and so has Torchwood.

I realize that one or both will be back up to speed in 2010.

I anxiously await the next round of bad news, when the BBC tells us that they are doubling production on Sarah Jane Adventures.

I rather enjoyed the original run of Marshall Law. The graffiti all over everything, the dystopia, the ass kicking.

Millar isn't just recycling his old stories but with extra swearing. He's too busy mass producing potential movie franchises...

Gods, I hate most comics fans...

(Yeah, I know you aren't referring to the Spike in the icon)

Why should John Constantine be Keanu's only casualty?
The main thing about Keanu Reeves is that he only plays Keanu Reeves. Sure the character may have a different name, but it's just Keanu. Reconciling that, I can handle "Matrix" as "what if Keanu Reeves was Superman Jesus?"

I still think they made a mistake by casting Keanu as Klaatu, but he does have just enough facial expressions (http://nymag.com/daily/entertainment/2008/12/a_field_guide_to_the_complete.html?source=cmailer#photo=4) to play Gort.

I love Baz and want to see Australia, but I really want to see Martin Scorscese's modern The Great Gatsby with Adrian Grenier. ;)

But I still want to see James Cameron's Aquaman... so... yeah.

I'm not a huge Cowboy Bebop fan, but even I know that Keanu isn't a great choice for the role.

I think he used up all of his personality in the Bill & Ted movies. He still has acting talent, but he has no energy left to build a character with.
