1. Over at The Live Feed, James Hibbard points out the self-publicizing manipulative goals of the schmucks at the Parents Television Council (which has never spoken for me as a parent).

2. Pride and Prejudice and Zombies! I actually suspect that it'll suck -- mainly because the description implies that no attempt to utilize Austen's actual style or social commentary, which are what would really make this work. Still, I'll likely give it a read.

3. Noted for my own reference as much as anything else, here's the recipe for the amazing Salty Oatmeal Cookies that were served in the Arisia Green Room.

4. The Hidden Door Company. When I win the lottery, I'm definitely commissioning something from them.

5. Wonder why Kansas City has made some of their insane free agent signings? Joe Posnanski has a good analysis.

6. Stephen King isn't impressed by Stephenie Meyer.

6.5. Robot Chicken's Stephen King isn't impressed by Dean Koontz.

7. How Diamond's ongoing practices will kill the direct market.

8. John Parr, Jake Holmes, Led Zeppelin, Gillette, Lego, plagiarism, and the Army, all together in a post that traces history from "Dazed and Confused" to "The Best a Man Can Get."

9. Altus is launching an online game division. If they offer a Disgaea MMO, I might just plotz.

10. Finally, here's an interview with Michaela Watkins, who continues to impress me on SNL.

Once you've had your hidden door built, will you permit the craftsmen to leave?

I kinda like the one "disguised" as a stairway.

Living in Kansas for lo, these many years, I have formulated A Theory About the Kansas City Royals.

To wit: They aren't a baseball team, they're a tax write-off for their owners.

I have yet to see *any* evidence this is not so.

I have a story which features Elizabeth and Mr. Darcy and also has zombies, but I suspect my story goes off in different directions. (As it also has the Scarlet Pimpernel and Charles Darnay and Sidney Carton. Yes, I know Sidney Carton gets guillotined. He's the once and future zombie in my story.)
