They made a conscious decision a while back to move from arts and entertainment to reality. You want class? Watch Ovation.

More like the Ovation execs follow Bravo and A&E and decide featuring artists is much less profitable than something like The Art of Pimping Out My Wife and Daughters or the 347,284,323rd showing of the free cable version of Animal House or Smokey and the Bandit where Buford T. Justice's voice alternates between Jackie Gleason and Fred Flintstone...

Probably, but there is a demand for televised arts and entertainment that will always be met by somebody. The trick is just following who'd doing it this year.

Exactly...the Circle of TV Life...another small channel will arise to give cultural uplift for a while before succumbing to lowest common denominator, then another, then another, et al....

I still remember the days when A&E actually stood for Arts and Entertainment and the days when Bravo didnt even have commercials...

I thought that happened when they came out with "Step It Up and Dance" featuring Elizabeth Berkley.

Which I never watched. Of course.

In a few years they'll come out with a new version where Gina Gershon joins as Elizabeth's partner...on the dance floor and in the bedroom(Hey! I like that idea!)
