Chasing the Dead
Mar. 3rd, 2009 08:59 amA few weeks ago, Colleen Lindsay mentioned that Chasing the Dead was a scary book. Actually, she said that it was, "hands down the most frightening novel I have ever read in my life and after I read the manuscript, I didn't sleep for the next three nights."
Naturally, I had to read it.
I can't say it scared me quite as much (I don't think I've ever read a book or seen a movie that's made me lose sleep). That said, I can say that I loved the book. It's scary, intense, and fast-paced, with damned fine characters, some nifty twists, and a solid New England setting (because it's just not horror if it's not set in New England, of course (see
nihilistic_kid's story here). It starts like a standard thriller, but eventually evolves into a truly fascinating work of horror. Highly recommended.
His upcoming Deathtroopers is the first Star War novel I've looked forward to, well, ever.

USB transfer on the new one is lickety-split. On the old one, I gave up and used the SD card reader from my camera to transfer.
